Academic
The curriculum is broad and balanced, centred on the National Curriculum. Priority is given to the core subjects of Mathematics, English and Science. The foundation subjects including History, Geography, Technology, Art, Music, Physical Education and Religious Education are also studied. In addition all children learn French from year 3 and take up Spanish in year 6. ICT is used extensively in all areas of the curriculum.
As the children progress through the school there is a gradual transition from class based learning to the more specific subject specialisation necessary to prepare pupils for entrance to senior independent and maintained schools. All children are regularly assessed so that their academic and personal achievements and needs can be identified and reported back to parents.
