Performing Arts
Children have many outlets for dramatic fulfilment. Drama is offered within the curriculum and all children take part in musical productions throughout the year. Within the curriculum children are involved in writing and performing history role plays, language plays and taking part in form assemblies. A highlight for the senior pupils is the major production at the end of the year. Recent productions include The Rocky Monster Show, Jungle Book and this year’s eagerly awaited production of Dream On.
Music
Music has a high profile in the school. All children have class lessons covering the curriculum while individual tuition is available in a wide range of instruments such as piano, strings, brass, woodwind and percussion. Children are encouraged to sit the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music Examinations.
The school orchestra, Junior and Senior choirs perform at concerts and our annual carol service in Romsey Abbey.
Children regularly perform and sing in assemblies.
Girls in the Pre-Prep learn ballet as part of the curriculum and can continue as an extra in the senior school.
Speech and Drama
Children can pursue speech and drama as an extra activity and reach a high standard in examinations.
Dance and Gymnastics
Children can participate in after school dance and gymnastic clubs leading to a major annual presentation to parents
