Stroud welcomes a Viking Invader!

Viking Day

Year 4 enjoyed a wonderful history day with a visit from Aldis, a Viking lady. The focus on the day was on becoming history detectives, looking at artefacts and finding out about the day to day lives of the Vikings.

The children enjoyed a range of activities including weaving, rune writing and role play. They were surprised to learn, that contrary to popular belief, the Vikings were not simply wild and ferocious raiders, they were also skilled artisans and a civilised race of people.

All agree that the Aldis our Viking visitor really brought the topic to life for the year 4 children and they all learned lots about life during Viking times.
