Autumn

Children in NeedChildren in NeedChildren in NeedA huge thank you to all the children, parents and staff for all their fantastic efforts for Children in Need. The enormous amount of £1,000 was raised. You all worked so hard in organising the events, baking cakes, playing games and I know everyone had a wonderful time.

Operation Christmas Child

We are proud to support the Operation Christmas Child charity which sends a Christmas shoebox to needy children around the world. Operation Christmas Child is the largest children’s Christmas project in the world, run by the Christian charity Samaritan’s Purse.

This year, Stroud children donated 220 boxes packed with gifts and everyday essentials all brightly wrapped with Christmas paper, to make a difference to children less fortunate than themselves.

Children from Nursery were very excited to help load the boxes onto the van ready for delivery to the Eastleigh depot. The boxes will then be sorted and sent out to children around the world. Mary Savage, Co-ordinator for Samaritan’s Purse Hampshire, was on hand to receive the boxes from us, 2010 being the 15th year we have supported this charity. Mrs Haley who co-ordinates the project at school, was thrilled by the generous response this year.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all those children, staff and parents who donated a shoebox- your generosity will make a huge difference to a child’s life this Christmas.
